Fallout 2 Mod Restoration Project Patch is a project that was created with the aim to restore some of the original content from the game or that which was missing.
The mod is built to keep the original feeling of the game, while also fixing a good deal of bugs that have been found. The Restoration Project add the EPA, Primitive Tribe, Abbey, Shi Submarine and other locations but it also creates new ones.
Apart from that, the mod brings back Peter, Nikki, Three Card Monte, The Barking Man and others. Fallout 2 Mod Restoration Project Patch also offers a long list of changes that were applied to Arroyo, The Den, Klamath, Redding, Modoc and other locations.
By downloading the patch that is provided on this page you will be able to apply a good dead of changes to the game. Once it's deployed over the original game, it fixes a number of bugs and provides additional gamaplay balancing.

Well given that all the Fallout games are on sale on Steam now, I decided to finish my collection and pick up Fallout 2 (And Tactics).
Being fairly seasoned with the Fallout fan base and having great satisfaction with Fallout Fixt, I obviously went and downloaded the Fallout 2 Restoration Project. This is all on Steam
I had some problems with the first installation because the installer told me the ddraw ini file 'was already there'. I remedied this by moving the ddraw file out of the Fallout 2 folder then clicking the installer's 'retry' option. Same thing with with f2_res file.
Fallout Fixt for Fallout 1 gave me an alternate EXE to use to play the game with Fixt. How to change language in windows 8 from french to english. Fallout 2 RP did not. So I assume i'm using the mod when I select 'Play' from Steam.
Fallout 2 Cheats
The mod tells me to 'look at the rock' behind some tribal guy in Arroyo at the literal start of the game. So I do but the rock doesn't really say anything other than 'A very large pile of rocks, they look dangerous just sitting there'.
EDIT: I did install it correctly, I just didn't see the tiny rock. I thought the rock referenced was the big pile.
