Ford Focus Whistling Noise When Accelerating
Ford Focus SE: High pitched hissing, whistle, or sucking sound. High pitched hissing, whistle, or sucking sound coming from under car. I don't know if it's from the front area ( engine) or exhaust under the car. I feel it's more pronounced on the driver's side where exhaust runs than the passenger side. Tl the contact owns a 2017 Ford Focus. While attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated and made a choking noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (lynn layton Ford, 3300 us-31, decatur, al 35603) where it was diagnosed that the clutch and transmission failure needed replacement. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired.

I have a 2003 Ford Ranger V6 3.0 that just reached 167k miles today. Couple months ago it started making this high pitched and loud whistling noise when I hit about 2500 rpm. It goes away above 3300 rpm, and stops when I release the pedal. About a week prior to this, my heater hose was pissin out coolant, so I changed the hose myself. It seems all secure and I can't find a vacuum leak anywhere. Again, about five days after it began making that sound. I've had a similar but not quite exactly the same sound begin, but after my top end was rebuilt (one year ago) it had also gone away. I'm not sure what would've caused that squeal after fixing the cylinder issues, so I'm just mentioning that in case it's correlated. Although when I had that problem, it squealed at anything above 2500 rpm and never went away unless I let off the pedal.
Checked the ranger station and a couple other forums but I'm seeing IAC and throttle body, which I cleaned not that long ago and even then it was pretty clean.
I use this truck to drive a little guy with down syndrome to and from his job as I am his job coach and don't make a whole lot of money so I'm trying to keep this thing in as tip top shape as possible.
